Chapter Najm – Part 11
53:31 “And to God belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth.”
This is a message for me i.e. whatever I see, I must question: “how do they come into existence?” It is an invitation for me to find out if I can find the Source of Existence of anything here. Go and investigate within your capacity. The verse says that you cannot and therefore you conclude: “Since I cannot attribute the existence of anything here, I conclude there must be a Source of Existence not of the nature of this universe. That is called God.” Hence, the above verse is an invitation for me to find out who God is?
How can I define God?
-
- A One whose command I am obeying now.
- That, which I attribute the sustaining of my existence to.
- I define God through negation (Lailaha), He is not anything of this universe.
“God is All-Powerful, All-Knowledgeable” —These are NOT descriptions of God. When I interact with the universe, I see some qualities in created form/manifested i.e. the Source of Existence displays these qualities in indescribable form or in a form that I cannot describe within the physical limited conditions of this universe. Example: I experience Mercy when I am in the company of my friends. Can I describe Mercy? No. The indescribable form of these qualities is from the indescribable Creator. I say: “God must be the All-Powerful One” but I cannot describe It. I know that He must have an indescribable quality of Power/Knowledge.” The inability to describe the qualities as an object i.e. the indescribable form of these qualities must belong to the indescribable Creator, whoever He is. I cannot really know God, but what I can know is: “Such an Absolute Being must exist, and He must be the Source of Absolute Power/Knowledge/Balance…all qualities belong to Him but we cannot know and we do not have to know the true essence of these qualities in order to confirm His existence.
I only see the manifested form of these qualities and I am aware of it. How? Because I am given the ability to acknowledge it and recognize it because my abilities are from the same Creator as the qualities I see manifested in the universe.
My consciousness recognizes these qualities in a limited and created form. I see things well-balanced, ordering and I say: “You must be the One arranging these qualities.” I cannot describe these qualities, but I am 100% sure that the qualities must exist in Absolute form because I see the manifestation and effects of their actions. I confirm the qualities of the Creator in indescribable terms.
53:32 “They avoid major sins and shameful deeds, except for minor offences. Your Lord is with vast forgiveness. He has been fully aware of you since He initiated you from the Earth, and while you were embryos in your mother’s wombs. Therefore, do not then consider yourself pure for He knows best as to who is conscious of Him.”
- Bad deed– you get the consequence of it.
- Good deed– your best one is taken into account.
I should strive to reach a higher level of good deed so that I should not despair of my previous not good deeds (i.e. bad). In other words, you might not have done something good for 10 years but your Creator will compensate you for the best deed until now. This is very encouraging! Just as a teacher takes in the best test grade as long as the student is willing to learn and develop. Even if I have not learned anything in a subject for ten years, after learning that subject I am created with a form of learned person. I am not punished for my previous ignorance any more.
What’s a good deed?
- Anything that does not go against your nature i.e. you are being consistent with your nature and you are obeying your Creator.
The way I am created consists of what? What are the qualities in my existence?
- My nature is nothing but the manifested qualities of my Maker.
- My consciousness is needed now: “Am I aware that I am acting according to my nature which is nothing but the manifested qualities of my Creator?” It means that I am acting according to the qualities of my Maker.
- This act that I am performing is taking place as a result of my freewill. I am preferring to respect the qualities in my creation i.e. I am respecting myself to be consistent with the qualities in my existence. In other words, I am obeying my Creator and acknowledge that qualities within me are given to me by my Creator through using my freewill.
As a conscious being, I prefer to be in alignment with my Creator. This action can only be good if it is performed with the awareness that it is according to the qualities of my Creator and that I am not contradicting my Creator and I acknowledge that the qualities in me are from Him and I am acting in obedience to His will. Example: Flowers are dying, and I feel bad. My feelings remind me that I should water the plants. There are two attitudes I can take:
- I am the owner of this action.
- I am the user of this action. (Correct!)
Even the act of learning something does not belong to me. If I go with option 1 and claim that I am learning, then with this attitude, I am not accepting that I am a created being because I am claiming ownership over my existence. How absurd!
What qualifies an action to be good? Any action performed by the human being by acknowledging that they are only using what’s given by their Creator and returning it back to Its Origin. My Creator is giving me the opportunity to perform it and I am thankful to my Creator.
Immediate Reward:
- I am a good person; I am proud of it. (Dangerous!)
- Be a loyal man to your Origin and do not contradict the truth.
The need to water the plant and the ability to know is given. Thanks to free will and consciousness, I can be loyal to the Source of Existence. The Creator says: “If an action is performed in My name, it’s Me that’s going to reward it with My Absolute qualities, not with manifested qualities.” If I do an action with this consciousness that He enabled me to do this, He is creating this act, then I am just moving the steering wheel, for example. With this awareness, reward is multiplied by infinity for His Quality of rewarding must be infinite.
Created form of reward= happiness. Real reward with the Creator depends on His value of it. This world is a sample of what we expect eternally. If death was the end to my existence, then all my feelings mean nothing. The reward here is demonstrated in limited form. Just if a seed dies under the earth and is rewarded with a tree, similarly, the eternal reward to my deeds performed in His name must be in eternal form that I cannot describe.
- Reward= Acknowledge the Creator, be in compliance with Him in your choices.
