74:48 “Then intercession of intercessors does not benefit them.”
Corrupt people will have no intercessor because they have distorted their human qualities. Mostly, that happens when we have a biased attitude towards religion. If one blocks themselves from receiving the message, then they corrupt their human qualities i.e. they corrupt themselves.
Traditionally, the hadiths mention the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as being the intercessor for his community. But how does this apply to me now? In other words, what is my intercessor?
- Following the Prophetic message or the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBHU) becomes my intercessor.
Anything that I interact with can act as an intercessor when I look for the meaning in that thing. Intercessors can be the objects and events that we interact with when we consciously see the meaning behind them. The meaning should lead me beyond the object or event themselves but to their source of existence.
Example: When I eat an orange, it can act as an intercessor for me. How? When I connect the qualities of the orange to its Source. I can ask the orange, are you the source of the shape you have, the color that you have? Are you the source of sweetness?
- When one acknowledges the orange as an intercessor as per example above, only then can this person have his human expectations satisfied.
The orange is naturally like this is a biased attitude. Corrupt people cut their understanding with a biased attitude by explaining existence of orange by itself. They just physically describe it without reading its meaning, just as materialists describe things to exist by themselves.
- Do we see any signs in creation that says that I am not given existence by a Maker?
- Even the most disliked thing reflects that it is created by an Absolute Being, called God.
Comment: My thoughts are also given to me, so how can I be in error when on the wrong path?
Creation and human free choice are different matter. Human free choice may develop distorted idea. Creation is perfect. We always have to look at creation. Existence is the intercessor.
- Study orange and then come to a conclusion; that is belief. Belief confirmation needs evidence. Evidence must be existent, not imaginary. Can the orange make itself round? No. What is the source of making this orange round?
We do not create anything but we use created things. Human choice which does not have reality does not exist. Example: I have the option of telling a lie but the content of the lie does not exist. The feelings to tell a lie exist. Are the particles the source of existence of your feelings?
Idol worshiping= making parts of the universe as the source of your satisfaction, as if the source of existence of something. When idol worshiping, interacting with the universe does not bring any existential meaning to one’s being.
75:49 “What is the matter with them that they turn away from the reminder!”
The intercessor is the reminder. The orange is a reminder. Human senses and Prophetic messages are also reminders. I myself am a reminder. What is the matter with you that you turn away from the reminder; why do you not take notice of the meaning they carry to your consciousness?
74: 50 “As if they were frightened wild donkeys”
Corrupt people are not using their human qualities, which is given to them. Corrupt mind cannot receive message through creation.
Human consciousness knows that it cannot exist by itself. Existence needs a source of existence. If you never change your attitude, you will run into a vicious circle. Rather than accepting the truth and acting accordingly, corrupt people decide to act as their animal needs want. That is, reacting with no evidence.
- Again, start from evidence and come to a conclusion, that is belief.
- Usage of language without realizing its meaning indoctrinates us into a certain way of thinking.
Quran’s main argument is “lailaha illallah” (things do not have their own existence; there is no source of existence in the universe).
- Think: Can orange be the source of existence of itself?
Don’t be frightened of a “lion,” which represents here the signs in creation, in human beings’ feeling in human rationality, i.e. truth. Use your humanity and face it.
74:51 “Fleeing from a lion.”
The corrupt run away from the reality in a non-human way, just like a donkey runs away from a lion. The lion represents the truth, so do not be afraid of the lion. Use your humanity and face it.
