The Reasonings (page 134)-

“THE FOURTH POINT:  Propaganda can only produce a superficial effect and close the ways to reason.  But penetrating the depths of the hearts, moving the most subtle feelings, developing potentials like a rose blooming, arousing hidden or dormant characteristics and causing the essential core of humanity to burst forth and blossom can only be achieved by the light of truth.  Indeed, it was such an unequaled revolution that this person purified hearts so hardened that they were burying female children in the earth alive; he took such people and furnished them with the most sublime feelings such as love and compassion towards all creatures, including even ants.  He realized this revolution, which was impossible to realize with the force of mere power or laws, in the Bedouin desert community.  Everyone, with some degrees of discretion, will confirm the extraordinariness of this accomplishment.  If you have some discretion, you will also confirm.”

Recap: We are trying to establish the need of Messenger-ship in our lives.  Each one of us need to establish within ourselves, do I need guidance?  Do I need Messengership?  Its importance really comes based on how much we are aware of the purpose of our being here.  The author walked us through in terms of I must come to a conclusion that there must be an institution of Messengership and so we have been specifically looking at the Messengership of Muhammad, historically as most of us know him being a Messenger, so we are trying to establish that.

MORE importantly, how can I make sure that the Creator of the universe, the Owner of the universe speaks in human language?  This is the most difficult part.  Yes, I understand that I need a Messenger to help me interpret existence, someone employed by the Creator of the universe.  And, I can get away with it saying that if I do not know a subject, then I need a teacher to teach me.  That is correct;

• But how can I make sure that God speaks or spoke in human language?

We have been studying this question for a long time because it takes a long time to establish this matter in our mind because Messengership is of primary importance i.e. from the existential point of view,  Messengership must exist and from human needs point of view, there must be Messenger-ship (such an institution because human beings need it) to satisfy my human needs in this creation since there are certain needs which are not satisfied in this existing universe as we look into the matter seriously.

The most important matter is that I need a teacher employed by God directly instructed by my Creator without human interference, human thinking, human development i.e. beyond human wisdom.  It is not provided in this creation by itself, in this world.  When you look at the universe, you do not see that the human need is satisfied in the world as we see it, they call it the nature of the universe, the qualities of the universe, the way the universe exists points to the Necessity of such an institution, such a matter i.e. this God must speak to human beings in human language.

Second matter which is not provided by the universe but there are many signs pointing to the Necessity of this is Eternal Existence.  In this universe, there is nothing Eternal to the existing universe whose existence is physically perceivable within the universe. Taking notice of the signs of qualities manifested in the universe as pointing to the logically necessary existence of something external to the universe, we have to think of its acceptability for our minds and senses.

• But human beings are in desperate need of Eternal Existence and Eternal Satisfaction. That is, all the desires given to me need to be Eternally satisfied, otherwise the existence of the desire is not going to make sense if they are not going to be satisfied. This universe does not allow such a satisfaction with its already existing capacity. (refer to the Necessity of Resurrection).

The importance of these subjects is very much neglected in most communities.  Usually, we take it for granted and say that human mind is limited and cannot understand anything, so we need guidance.  It is true but very shallow.  We need guidance from creation and creation can guide us.

But how does God speak to human beings in human language?  There is no sign of it and I did not hear any voice i.e. God is speaking.  This needs serious thinking and satisfaction of the reasoning that it must be so, there must be such a thing, that is why it is difficult to work on it because it needs a deep reflection, not only one hour, one day or one year.  This needs a long reflection.

How do we know that that particular person (Muhammad) is a Messenger/Prophet?  We can only talk this after establishing that such an institution must exist.  Ok, let’s say that we studied so far, and therefore, we are convinced about it but where is he, where is the Messenger?  History tells us that there have been many Messengers but, in this time, which is related to the mission of the Prophet Muhammad, is he really a Messenger, how do we know?  If I saw him, let’s say, how do we know that he received the Speech of God?  Was it behind the clouds?  How do I make sure that he was one of those appointed by the Creator of the universe?  We have been studying many evidences in the form of sub-sections.

What do you understand from “propaganda”?

Answer: Just following something without questioning it and that does not satisfy one’s humanity and it closes the way to reasoning, as in “go with the flow”.

• Ask yourself: Why do I follow fashion? What rationality do you have behind following fashion?

If you follow the flow, then you are like a puppet, doing things without any reasoning.  This has nothing to do with human reality.  This also produces a superficial effect, which is not essential.  For the moment, as the society is like this and most people are doing it as well (like a sheep following a herd), let me do it too.  You cannot be satisfied with it because 6 months later fashion changes.  Same goes in politics, after a couple of years, the Government change minds and appoint someone else.  So, superficial and not essential.

This is not confirmed by the constant reality of the things coming into existence “as in nature”.  Example: the principles or laws of acts of creation apparent in the nature do not change.  Your interpretation of creation also needs to be stable.

• Your conclusion is driven from the witnessing of creation and principles of acts of creation do not change i.e. your conviction should never change, not only in 6 months but it should never change. You need not to find yourself once in a while in bewilderment.

As far as you are concerned, the laws of creation do not change.  That is, the laws being witness to their essential qualities of their Creator do not change because the Creator acts in the same way always and (the witnessing of the qualities) also do not change.

Throughout history, man witness the same thing.  There are constants in creation which never change (natural principle i.e. main pillars of creation).  It is true, but it does mean anything unless we dig deeper.  That is, the constants or laws of creation are witness that the One who established this order of the universe, creates the universe, give existence to the universe based on the same principles, these are the physical constants.

• Physical constants are example of the way that the Creator follows the same pattern, but they point to the Necessity of the Existence of a Conscious Creator, the One who establishes the Order.

A Conscious Being must establish the Order since it is so precisely measured, and it works in such a way, that not only in one instance but the continuous changing order keeps this same constant and always producing the same results.  Example: the universe is continuously changing but is always wise, useful, productive, purposeful…  We say that the real constants we deduce from the universe are the fundamental qualities of the Creator manifested in the universe.  Example: at every fraction of a second, we see that for something to come into existence, the Source must be Absolutely powerful, Absolutely knowledgeable, free to choose, to decide, wise… these are the constants in creation.

According to these constants, human beings must come up with a conclusion that the Creator of the universe must have such and such qualities, that is a rational conclusion and approved/confirmed by the witnessing of the universe, the way it exists.  There is nothing strange, we are not referring to any texts such as Quran says so, Bible says so…  We are observing the universe and that is how the human mind works and so human reasoning must have the base for its conclusions which never change because the constants in creation never change.  What these constants point to also never change.

• If someone’s conclusion does not have stability, then it is not the result of reasoning. That is why fake, artificial community in order to impose themselves in the minds of people superficially, always use propaganda.  They show it, repeat it and produce the product accordingly and gives the image that you have to follow this fashion.  “Look, everyone is doing it and I should do it too because I do not want to single out myself in the society.”  Why?  Because we do not have our own personality established on solid reasoning and conviction.  We are not really convinced in our conclusions. 
• We may follow a certain tradition of a belief, but we are not convinced and just follow the way that people are doing around us.

The kind of revolution Prophet Muhammad brought into our lives is not the result of propaganda.  People change their minds for good according to the teachings that the Prophet brought to them.  For 1450 years, it has been the same way and it convinces anyone as well because it is confirmed by the nature of the creation in the world and nature of human beings.  That is, it does not contradict my human reason, the way I feel, the way I expect something… that is my reality, it does not contradict to human expectations. That is why it should not change.

If the message was not true, then it should be in the form of a propaganda.

• Propaganda cannot stay longer and cannot be confirmed by human rationality.
• Whatever the Prophet taught these people and those who followed his teachings afterwards, they made change in their life once and for all. That is after studying the fundamental teachings of the Quran, which is introduced by him, and witnessing the universe and human qualities.

Quran says something; human nature and universe witnesses to the truthfulness of it and human beings become convinced about it.  That is what belief is.  Belief is not what you heard from your family culture.

• Under the witnessing of the universe and your human qualities, what you confirm is belief.

Every other person born in the community follow the culture like fashion.  Muhammad’s prophetic mission changed people’s mind for good, they were all satisfied with it. Only those people who did not know what Muhammad taught were not satisfied because they did not know what Muhammad taught, and they just imitated the society under social pressure without being convinced by using the evidence.  We must check with ourselves:  Am I convinced about it?  Really?  Work on it and you will be convinced about what he says: “that is what Muhammad said and it makes sense to me”.  If you are convinced, then welcome otherwise reject it.  But STUDY!

Nowadays, people do not know what Muhammad taught and they look at the society which identifies itself with Muhammad.  The society has certain established values (propaganda like) and we are indoctrinated by certain ideas/understanding prevalent in the community, and we do not know why, that is what almost everyone says and does.

A serious scholar (without studying the belief background) says: “The Prophet Muhamad introduced Sharia i.e. if someone does something wrong, then the first thing he is to do to compensate his act is to free a slave”.  Then, a true thinking man says that there is no slavery now.  What do you understand from slave, Mr. Scholar depending on the structure of the society?  In certain societies, slaves may be an institutional matter.  How can you free the slave in creation?  Anything in creation can be regarded as a “slave” left to the egoistic treatment of some people.  Fundamentally, they are the same in terms of concept of slavery.

Prophetic message says that you must emancipate the slaves.  Why should I?  He says that “you (those created beings, including the people) are brothers, then how can a person take his brother as his slave?”  You cannot claim to be superior over any other people or thing because they are creatures created by someone.  I cannot claim superiority over anything else.  I cannot say that you are going to be as I want you to be and you have no right of yourself.  Your existence depends on me and I can kill you, for example, a tree or animal as I am pleased. When the Prophet introduced the rules in practical terms, slavery was such that they could cut people’s arm/body and no one could say anything.  But with life principles that Muhammad introduced pertaining to how we should perceive the existence of things around and interpret the universe, accordingly I cannot treat anything as I want.

Everything has its own right to exist.  I can utilize them, but I cannot enslave them to my own desires without aiming at using them for a legitimate purpose.  I can use them if they are created for my usage.  That is, if I see that they are created for me.  Example: if you do not know how to make a door, then you hire someone to make the door and that is not slavery as you pay her/him for the work so that s/he will be free to use the payment, that is just utilization.  Similarly, when you drink water, it does not mean that you are enslaving water, you utilize it, but you have to pay back.  How?  Acknowledgment of the purpose/mission in its existence i.e. you exist for this and you are employed by my Creator and that is why I am utilizing you.  If you use water without acknowledging the mission water is created for, what have you done? Then you killed the slave.  That is, in your mind you say I can do anything I want, it is my property.  No, it is not your property, it is given to you and prepared for you to use and the payment of it is acknowledgment that it is presented to you by its Creator to be used, not to waste, commit murder.  Slavery mentality is this that we learn from the message of Muhammad (pbuh).  He convinced the people that you cannot have slaves.  Even if slavery institutions were eradicated practically by the Prophet, the mentality is the same.  Not only human beings but you cannot enslave anything in the universe.  You have to pay for the service they are doing to you.  That scholar was very simple minded as he laid out something according to his conditions or community he is living in.  This means that any matter which is physically organized in the Sharia that Muhammad as a Prophet introduced to people, (any physical matter such as doing ablution, fasting, giving charity, freeing slaves…), all of them are fundamentally based on his world view that he introduced to human beings through the message he claimed taught by the Creator.  If someone does not put this physical action introduced by the Prophet Muhammad through Sharia into practice i.e. if this person fails to put this into action by following the fundamental belief system that the Prophet introduced to human beings, then he is bound to fail in understanding the reality because there are no foundations for it.  Example: If someone says that I am going to pray because it is ordered, then it does not bring any conviction.

• Real reasoning and conviction must be based on your worldview and existence. How do you interpret existence?  What do you understand from it?  What is the purpose of your existence?  To whom are you connected to in this world and responsible for your existence?  If you do not question this, then you would not understand what you are doing.  You are carried away by the propaganda of the society which has nothing to do with the teachings of the Prophet.

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) can be addressed as a “man Muhammad” only when we are questioning his Messengership.  However, when we are studying the worldview and ideas which he introduced, that is not his personal idea because we are talking about Muhammad as the One who is given the message of God, and so we have to say “Prophet/Messenger Muhammad”.  If someone is not convinced with a satisfied reasoning that Muhamad was a Prophet, then s/he should never talk about Sharia.  Sharia is not only about practical side/practice of the message, but the whole message and worldview he brought to us.  In order to say “Prophet Muhammad”, we have to go through a very serious and difficult stages.  What makes you say “Prophet”?  Why do say “Prophet”?  How do you know?  We use propaganda language by following what the civilization says.  But, the mission of the Prophet is not introducing propaganda.  Don’t you find it difficult to say the “Prophet Muhammad”?

Stage 1:  Am I convinced about the Messengership/mission/profession that such an institution must exist?
Stage 2:  If I am convinced, then is Muhammad one of them?

When I am convinced about these stages, then I can say that the Prophet Muhammad introduced this worldview, not as a “man Muhammad” but an employed teacher.  Why do we use Prophet Muhammad very loosely?  Because our belief in the message he brought to us is very loose.  We say that we are Muslims and we follow the Sharia, rather we follow the “fashion” of the community that we belong to.  We are not serious people as far as belief system is concerned!!

The revolution/change which was established by the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, it was established in the heart and mind of people in such a way that they never changed.  Because “constants of the creation” never change and what they infer also never change.  You cannot see one thing existing without demonstrating the fact that it is given existence by an Absolute Power.  The same thing witnesses that I exist by receiving the existence from a Being who is Conscious and has Absolute Knowledge.  Every single thing demonstrates that!  Study it!  Can one thing happen in the world randomly?

Scientists are very narrow minded.  A known scientist said: “in order to have an apple, you have to have the order of the universe in this way as it is”.  Rather, if you think about it, in order to have an apple, you must have the whole universe!  The material existence of the universe is not enough, the order of the existence of the universe as it acts must be Necessary.  What he is saying, in his mind, is that in order to have an apple, you do not have to have the universe because the universe exists in a way where it produces apple as a result of random happenings.  How can random happenings produce apple?  Is there any random happening in the universe?  If so, then science must be a temporary thing!  If something is random, then you cannot establish any scientific principles.  Example: this computer worked last year and this year it changed randomly.  There are no random happenings in the universe. Wake up! If you still claim it, then prove it without using your ignorance of some procedures!

Physical constants in the universe show that it is a well-established and well-planned order.  These constants exist and so there is nothing random.  The way the universe comes into existence shows that the main principle of “existence” itself never changes.  These people are playing with our mind.  They seem to be making sense apparently but how can things happen randomly?  If constants do not change, then how can something be random?  The order is based on never changing constants and these constants randomly develop?!  Not one constant, all of the constants are corresponding to each other. So ridiculous!  This is also another fashion to follow.  This propaganda is based on “scientific terrorism.”  If you do not refer your interpretations of the findings you find in the lab to non-randomness, what happens?  You are out of job the next day.  And they say science explains everything and you just follow the fashion accepted by the “scientific” society?!

Prophet Muhammad educated people and changed their minds once and for all.  No one could argue, and his argument was: “what God told me is based on what we witness in creation, not what the Quan says.”  Creation is a witness to the truthfulness of the Quran.  Fundamentally, the Qur’an claims that it is the Verbal Explanations of the what is created out there in the universe by the One Who Speaks in the Qur’an. That is why we should tread the Qur’an as revealed by the Creator of the universe, under the witnessing of the actions taking place within the universe. They should correspond each other.

• Quran is a guide tells you something, this is what it is, investigate and you will come to a conclusion. “That is how I created the universe, go and investigate it in the universe, you will realize that I am the Creator of the universe speaking to you”.

Unfortunately, we do not investigate and take Islam as a propaganda presented by the society.  We just believe without any evidence.  You are a Muslim, aren’t you?  When we look at the teachings of the Prophet, it made a change in the root of people’s understandings and feelings.  No one can produce any evidence to discredit it.  If I am convinced, then you must be convinced as well.  If not, work on it!

Example: In Bangladesh society, it is a fashion to be a Muslim, isn’t it?  The belief that the Prophet Muhammad introduced to us is not a kind of fashion.  We should not follow the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) like we are following a fashion.

Comment: What do we understand from “essential core of humanity”?

It is to investigate, confirm and be satisfied under the witnessing of creation.  Without witnessing, no one can decide about anything.  Human beings have a universal witnessing from the universe as well as from their own existence within the universe, the way things exist.  Fundamentally, we conclude that there must be a Creator, who has these qualities (i.e. through investigating and witnessing).  As soon as you say, “Creator”, it means that “something must be created” and as soon as you say “Creator is All-Knowledgeable”, it means that “I have to have witnessing of known things, so that the One who gave existence to them must have knowledge”, all the qualities of God are driven from the manifestations in creation.  Otherwise, we cannot have any biased notion about belief.  Example: I think God is wise.  Belief is not based on biased notion, rather sound evidence which convinces human beings.  Can a judge decide about a case saying that I feel this man is guilty without any evidence?  As long as you have evidence, you make a judgment.  When we make a judgment that this universe must have a Creator, then we need to have evidence.  This Creator is All-Merciful, how do you know?  We must understand that belief is not based on biased notion.  I do not know why but I hear from scholars that God is all All-Merciful.  Concluding the “Absolute” is a notion witnessed by the universe and not a physical part of the universe.

“Essential Core of Humanity” means that what the Message of the Prophet Muhammad (Quranic message) did is to first establish the nature of this universe, transient, dependent and needs to be given existence.  First verse is “Read”, what?  In the name of the Creator.  What are you going to read?  His actions of creation.  Look at the universe and it will tell you what it is all about.  The message of the Prophet heavily emphasized on the transient nature of the universe.  It means that things cannot sustain themselves (that is what the description of “last Hour boils to, ultimately everything is subject to destruction in its nature, i.e. needy of an Existence Giver to it”). That is, if the One who gave them existence wills to stop to give it, they are destroyed because their existence does not depend on themselves.  All the horrible description of the “Last Hour” infers that things do not have existence by themselves, they are dependent.  Don’t be frightened about the doomsday that everything will be thrown away and destroyed.  Rather, these are messages for us that the universe cannot sustain its own existence, it is not independent.  When I die, all my cells and atoms are destroyed because they cannot sustain themselves.  Universe does not have its own existence by itself.  We must understand the purpose in the speech of God in the message that the Prophet Muhammad brought to us.

Comment: During the life of the Prophet Muhamad, his mission changed people’s life dramatically.  His mission still exists but I do not see a change on a large scale, is it because it is not explored?

Does it have to be on a large scale?  Some physicists find how things are created in the world.  How many people know what is going on inside the atom?  If you study, then you will be convinced; if I do not study, then it is my mistake because it is saying come on investigate me how true I am and then you will be convinced.  Those people who did it, according to their level, they learned, and they are convinced.  If you say that I am convinced as well to a certain extent, then you must have your evidence as well.  But if you are following propaganda or fashion of Muslim community, then you are not convinced about anything.  It is not a mistake of the idea, but it is my mistake, how many people investigate what the Quranic message is?  We are not serious! When you go shopping, what do you need?  You take your wallet and see: “do I have enough money to pay for it?”  Even for shopping we prepare ourselves; how much do we prepare ourselves to understand who we are?  Whose mistake is it?  It is an offer from the Creator by employing the messenger and the language of the Quran (the message) and the language of the messenger must be understood form the Speech made from the point of view of the Creator, it means a suggestion.  It is up to us to investigate.  Example: Quran says God knows everything.  We take it literally that Prophet says that.  The Quran and the Prophet do not say anything to be imitated, if so then it would become a propaganda.  We Imitate fashion without reasoning.  Religion/Belief is not fashion, it is an essential human need.

What we have to do is simple: if the Prophet says for example: “Don’t worry, God knows everything and will take him into account”.  What does it mean?  This is an offer to understand and investigate that the Creator of the universe takes everything into consideration; and everyone as a result of his responsibility is responsible for the result of his/her free choice.  Am I really taking responsibility?  Is it true?  That is what we must investigate and confirm.

• If I do not investigate and come to a confirmation which satisfies my human needs, then it is my mistake.

But if someone tries sincerely without being biased about any idea and cannot get satisfaction of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh (the message that he brings to us), then he has the right to say that it does not work, I tried my best.  Just like some bias scientists’ ideas do not make sense to us.  If I do not investigate is my problem not the problem of Prophetic message.  After investigating, then if you do not find it rationally convincible, then you are right to leave it.  But it is impossible to be so!  These texts are to be understood in the form of guidance i.e. offer.  This is the reality, go and investigate it in the universe, it is within your own capacity.

Go and think about creation, you do not have to be a scientist.  How things are coming into existence and how my human qualities come into existence?  Don’t take it for granted that I like this or not.  Are these under the influence of fashion or the result of my rational conviction and confirmed by my human feelings?  Because I cannot isolate my conclusions from my human feelings.  Just as no one can make a shopping list without letting his feelings interfere in the shopping list.  Let me add pineapple because I like it. There is no rationality behind it, I just like it, it is my feeling.  To a certain extent everyone has a certain base, but we have to be careful when we think that as believers, we are sure that Quran is true. How are you sure? I am a Muslim, so I believe in Islamic Creed. Every Jew or Christian, or an atheist may believe in the same way and reason.  There is no difference.  The difference is where you made the investigation.

“THE CONCLUSION: World History witnesses that one who is able to arouse and develop one or two feelings, characteristics or potentials is considered to be a genius.  For, if certain feelings, characteristics or potentials are not aroused and developed, any success realized will be unstable and transitory.  So, it was only possible through the shining light of the sun of the truth that hundreds of feelings, characteristics, and potentials such as freedom, devotion, love, self-sacrifice, and heroism were aroused, motivated and developed in the Bedouin communities living in the vast deserts of the Arabian Peninsula of thirteen (now fourteen) centuries ago.  Look at the Arabian Peninsula.  After thirteen (now fourteen centuries) of scientific and technological development, send there (or even any part of the modern, civilized world) a hundred of the most renowned philosophers, pedagogues, psychologist, and sociologists.  Let them strive there for a hundred years and see whether they are able to accomplish one hundredth of what this person, upon him be peace and blessings, achieved within twenty-three years.”

Can you change a person who belongs to a certain political group or family tradition base?  No, they are hard core.  If you want to change someone, you have to affect people’s fundamental feelings, such as their understanding of freedom, devotion, self-sacrifice… based on human feelings, characteristics and potentials.  These characteristics must genuinely be changed, not temporarily.  At that time, the worst society of that time was the Bedouins Arab, they had no civilization, just valuing tribalism.  These people changed in a very short time, they made not only humans as their brothers but all creatures.  They previously thought that things are inanimate, but the Quran says “No, the things are very conscious according to their capacity.  They are pronouncing the qualities of their Creator, that is their mission here on earth.”  This understanding changed their mind so much that at the end, every one respected even the smallest creature and paid attention to it saying that “you are a valuable missive/messenger for me from my Creator, I respect you and I use you in the Permission of your Creator, acknowledging who your Owner is because your Owner allowed me to use.  That is why I use it.”

Why do you drink water?  Because its Owner allowed me to drink it.  That is what we mean by saying “bismillah” (In the Name of God).  Why is bismillah a blessing?  Because we are acknowledging the Owner of that property and asking His permission. And the water is a witness in its existence that its Owner is Absolutely Merciful to human needs.  Example: Alcohol is the product of the same Source.  Why don’t you drink alcohol? Because the Owner of the alcohol says you are not allowed to drink it because it is My property.”  If you acknowledge Its Ownership, then you do not consume it.  If you do not acknowledge Its Ownership, then you say this is my slave and I can do whatever I want with it.

The Prophetic message got established in the minds of people in such a way that they could not use anything of the universe without referring it to the permission of its Owner/Creator.  “Bismillah” is a phrase to be commonly used with this consciousness. Since we found ourselves within a culture where people are instructed to say “bismillah” without any proper consciousness, and so we do not appreciate the value of what “bismillah” means because we do not go through this revolution.  Those people who were educated by the Prophet, they did not have any such concepts and they developed it.  Another example, “inshaAllah” (God willing), what does being conscious when we utter it mean for us?  We have some ideas in our minds but not well established.  Those contemporaries used “inshaAllah” by meaning it because it changed their lives for good.  We think that until I die, everything is under my control.  But after the Quran came, no one could speak about promising to do something without saying “inshaAllah” because their worldview completely changed from the foundations/root. They realized that nothing can come into existence by itself but by the Will of the Creator, “If He wills: InshaAllah.” We must go through the same process and make this revolution in our mind.

Example: What do I mean by when I say “inshaAllah”?  It means God wills.   How do you know that God wills?  Haven’t you heard in school that natural laws do not change?  Whether God wills or not, natural laws do not change.  How are we going to reconcile these two opposite ideas?  We must think!

It is not difficult to understand the reality, but it is difficult to decide that my belief system/religion must be based on questioning and investigating.  I must question: Is this really true, because when I go to school, they say that everything is happening through natural laws, whereas when I go to the mosque, I say “inshaAllah”?  What is happening, which one is true and why?

Which one is true?  Do not use your emotional tendencies by using propaganda from the society you see.  You must be convinced with what the Prophet did because we have not experienced the radical change/revolution in our lives, that is why when we say “InshaAllah”, it does not mean that my whole worldview changed.

In school they say that natural laws happen by themselves and never change.  Why do natural laws not change?  Can it be possible to accept that?  It never changes by itself, is it natural or is it “inshAllah” (God wills)?

This world works according to the will/choice of its Creator because things cannot make themselves work by themselves.  Atoms do not have mind, will, knowledge, wisdom, power to communicate with its parts and the rest of the universe…  Everything happens in this world according to the choice/will of its Creator (inshaAllah).  Nothing can happen by itself.  I must work on it.

It is not difficult, it is so easy, if only you think about it!  Do not follow fashion.  Always ask yourself before doing something or saying something: Is it really true what they are saying?  When you question it, the answer is easy.  If you do not question, then you just imitate the society and you will have no answer.
