Arguments for Messengership – Part 10

The Reasonings (page 122)

“The second point is that humanity has been equipped with a great potential and has almost limitless ambitions and tendencies, barely controllable thoughts and conceptions, and the faculties of lust and anger which have not been restricted in origin, but which require education or training and restraint.  This essential dimension of human existence also requires Prophethood.”

What is the purpose in being given various senses and tools?

We are given endless potentialities, various thoughts and senses.  The more you think about it, the more you discover reality.  Why am I given all these nasty side of human beings (as described by the author as tendencies, barely controllable thoughts, imaginations and conceptions…)?

We may even develop excuses to justify our mistakes and that becomes a tendency.

  • Barely controllable thoughts that we invent. If I do something, then I justify it.

Example:
If I like a group of people, I find excuses to join them.  If someone conditions themselves not to like something, s/he finds out excuses to criticize it.  These are very interesting human behaviors.

  • What is the purpose of qualifying people into a category? What justification am I using?  Blaming?  Criticizing?  Appreciating?

Why are we given all these endless qualities?  Is there any benefit in being given them?

  • There is purpose in their creation. Ex: My barely controllable thoughts- while I think I cannot control them because of my adopted tendencies, I pick up those thoughts.  However, I can make sense of them with the realities that I see in the world.

We see that nothing is created without wisdom and everything is created in a way that it is purposeful for something.  My question is that there must be a point in their being created in me and what is it?

Comment: I do not see the qualities as “nasty” qualities.

Well, if nasty qualities were not in existence, then everything would be wonderful in the world.

Comment: I beg to differ on that.  I think these qualities are there for a reason despite how negative you might see them as.  Just the barely controllable thoughts help me come to a conclusion that even thoughts that I think are my own are not in my control.  Hence, these thoughts are not my own essentially.

If I cannot control my qualities, then it is beyond my reach so why should I bother?

Comment:  For me, thoughts are not qualities.  The ability to think is a quality which is different from thought.  A thought is an idea or something that already exists.

When you think, does the thought come to your mind accidentally?  No.  We pick up thoughts because of our tendencies and the usage of our freewill.  Example: If someone says, that I happen to exist accidentally, and the world just happens to be as it is and I will die, then that is a thought as well.  You can pick up your thoughts and try to make sense of it in accordance with the reality that you experience in the world and benefit from it.  You are also given the ability to do that i.e. that side is also open for you.

No one is born as an unbeliever or a nasty person or a nice person.

  • Everyone is given a certain type of tendency- and they may use it to benefit from it in a good way.

In childhood, we see that some children tend to be hyperactive while others seem to be very quiet and calm.  Everyone is given certain tendencies and they have choices within those tendencies.  Example: a calm person may not really bother about taking things seriously, what we refer to as easy going.  Another person may seem to be hyper and may benefit from their character to use it to reach certain conclusions and benefit from it in the positive way.  Therefore, we cannot say that if a child is calm, s/he may be easier to deal with rather than an over exciting child.  Also, a child’s behavior depends on the environment and treatment of the parents.  Biological, physical, environmental and nutritional causes can play a factor in the child going hyper or excited.  Could be the child’s diet that causes hyperactivity?  Routine is also another important factor in the child’s behavior, especially the sleeping pattern and not getting enough sleep.  It may seem to the parent that dealing with the calm child is easier than the excited one but again not one type is better than the other.  Therefore, we cannot say that thoughts are different from the ability to think.  Alternative ideas or thoughts come from using my freewill (as an adult) and accordingly I may make excuses to justify an attitude or behavior rightly or wrongly.  Anything can come to our mind at any time, including anger and difficult to control human lust.  Are they bad?  No.  Tendencies need to be educated. Uncontrolled they follow whims and desires.  We call them thoughts and make excuses to justify this way or that way. Having no limits for your thoughts, is it bad?  No.  Train them by redirecting them.

  • Anger and Lust require training and work. Use your freewill, find their purpose and direct them.

Comment:
Everything depends on the potential for education.  Whether these thoughts and feelings, (be it lust or anger) are used in a good way or bad way depends on our education or training.  If we are able to educate our qualities and train them in accordance to their purpose, reason for their creation and contemplate on their existential origin, then they can be used in a good way.  Otherwise, if we let them remain uncontrollable without using our human consciousness, then they remain uncontrollable and follow the tendencies of animalistic societal tendencies.

We see that animals are given some tendencies as well.  They do not have the opportunity from themselves to train themselves.  Animals grow as they are.  They do not feel the need for training.  Human beings are given freewill.  Unlike human beings, animals are not put in a position of choosing to react to anger to exercise their freewill.  Animals simply act as they are created.  Example: dogs are loyal to their masters and cats are loyal to the house.  Human beings, on the other hand are given the option to restrain the thoughts and we are given the faculty to do that i.e. freewill.

While we are using our freewill to re-direct our feelings, control them or educate them, what benefits do we get?

Comment: For educating myself on what to do with my qualities.  That is, educating myself for what I am and who I am.

Educating your humanity for what purpose?

Comment:  The benefit of the training is to satisfy our humanity because our humanity cannot be satisfied by temporary use of any of our qualities.  If any of our qualities are stuck in its temporary use, then it does not really satisfy our humanity.  Hence, the benefit of this training would be to satisfy our humanity.  Is it true then that the revelation that claims to be from the Maker is necessary because it is a guide to the way of Eternity which is the only way to use our humanity to satisfy our lust, anger and other feelings?

There is a huge jump here.  Let us first establish that we need guidance here and that this guidance should be the Source of Eternal Happiness i.e. what we seek for.  What are we going to do with these qualities?  Do we really benefit from them?  Can we benefit from them?  Only then, we can talk about which kind of benefit can we expect from them?

Comment:  If you have a garden and if you do not take care of it, then it becomes a mess.  As a human, you have the freewill to take care of the weeds, so it can grow in the best way possible.  As an animal, you just let it grow as it is.  Animals act as they are whereas I have the ability to extract meaning from the physical world.

What are we going to achieve by developing our humanity?  I trained myself and controlled my feelings but for what purpose?  I become a perfect human being.  Become a perfect human being, what for?  What does it mean to become a perfect human being?  Does it mean a man without any flaws or nothing lacking in his/her existence?  That is impossible, no one can be perfect.   Example: if a person tells an angry man who cannot restrain his anger, not to get angry, the angry man will say look I am human and I am given this anger and I am using it, what is wrong with it?

What is the end goal of training my humanity?  Why am I going to develop my humanity?

Comment:  Through knowing and educating myself, I am converting my potential into capacity.  I can leverage my capacity to fulfill the purpose of my belief.

Belief is the result of training.  Belief develops as a result of my attitude towards my tendencies, so how can you say that in order to achieve your belief, you have to go through training?  Belief is the result of your choices.  Where did you get the concept of belief from the very beginning?

What are you going to achieve by learning how to swim for example?  Belief is the result of this argument i.e. why am I training here for?

  • Why do we need to investigate?
  • Why do we need to train ourselves?
  • Why do we need to educate ourselves?

By being in this position of the need to learn to swim and having the freewill to choose one way or another way, what are we expected to achieve?

Comment:  Our humanity requires lasting happiness, contentment which can only be sought through educating, training and restraining the qualities such as lust and anger. Unless we do not limit ourselves to the temporary happiness, we will taste satisfaction in our humanity.

Now, this comment seems like a start.  Yes, temporary success does not satisfy our humanity.  I will look for Permanent satisfaction.  Achieving the Permanent satisfaction is my target.  I can only be satisfied when I get Permanent Satisfaction.  That is very human; we do not need anyone to tell us that.  It is always with us i.e. these are the tools or potentialities given to us.

  • How am I going to utilize these tools to achieve Permanent satisfaction?

When I train myself to curb my anger, which kind of help should I expect as a result of this training that will satisfy my desire for Permanent satisfaction or address my desire for Permanent satisfaction?

Comment:  If I experience anger, the anger in and of itself is a sign or an indication to a human need that I have.  If I do not get angry at injustice or react to when someone is treating me bad, then I am not using my humanity.  If I reflect on the creation of anger, then I see it as an indication of a human need that I have.  The human need may be a need for justice.  If I receive the meaning from the anger, then I can use it as a sign that connects to the Creator of that need which is the only One that can satisfy my humanity.

When we realize that these senses are given (that is if you question it and realize it), do you think that it would be the starting point for human potentiality to question what is their purpose for being given to me?  Ask this question: what is the purpose in having all these qualities?

  1. I need Permanent Happiness is fundamental. This is the first principle.
  2. Human beings are given the qualities to search for the purpose of existence of their qualities or anything else. I can search and question: Why am I given the sense of anger or unrestricted thought or reflection?  Without saying that God gave me.  What is the purpose in their being given?

How can I reconcile my human desire for a Permanent Happiness and realizing that these senses are given to me and they are not restrained?

I am given the freewill to restrain my thoughts one way or another way.  Also, it is very human, that is how we are made, we learn.  What are we going to learn through this process of training (restraining thoughts one way or another way), so that the end result would be Permanent Satisfaction, so I will say that is who I am, my reality.

One end: I am a human being, if there is no Permanent Satisfaction, I am not happy.  That is what I am.  I look for Permanent Satisfaction.

Another end: I have some senses and they need to be trained.  I am aware of that.

How am I going to benefit from training my unrestricted feelings so that this training will give the result to achieve the Permanent Happiness?

Yes, I need training and in this process of trying to connect the dots (i.e. both ends), I understand that I need guidance/teachers.  If I do not see any point in training myself, then I would not look for a trainer.

  • If I see that, yes, I need training in order to be a better human being (who does not say that I want to be a better human being, even the Atheists say that they are better reasonable human beings), then I look for guidance.

What am I going to do with these senses, so I will achieve the desire for Permanent Happiness?

Yes, I know in between that I can train myself because I am given freewill i.e. I can redirect my feelings one way or another way.  The question is why am I free to do this and what does it have to do with my ultimate aim, Permanent Happiness?  If I make sense of this process, only then will I feel the need of a teacher.

  • I try myself, but I mess up. Example: Can you really learn martial arts without a sensei?

First, I must be satisfied that I need to really train myself in order to achieve ultimate aim which is Permanent Satisfaction. (we take it for granted that human beings need training and we need a teacher because we are limited).

Comment: If we were restricted or limited in our faculties then I am not responsible for the outcome and I will not even question.

Even if my capacity is limited, but still within my capacity there is a desire for infinite.  We have been discussing about “perfecting our humanity” from the beginning.  When you perfect your quality to be a better human being, you need a criterion for it.  What makes a person a better human being?

  • If by choosing a way of training which takes me to Eternal Happiness, then that is a perfect human being.

Civilization reduces humanity to life span within this universe only.  Humanity is reality and human satisfaction can only be realized by achieving the Permanent Happiness.  We CANNOT reach Permanent Happiness in this world by using the opportunities given to us here.  That is the stepping stone, where we can reach a conclusion from.  Example: No one was hurt because of your behavior (whatever you did as a knowledgeable, kind and helpful man), but for what?  Human desire is to achieve Eternal Happiness.  By being kind to others, you feel happy and if you do something wrong you feel disturbed.  What does it have to do with Eternal Happiness?

People pay money to have their names put on buildings in order to fulfill their desires for Eternal Happiness.  Is this the source of Permanent Happiness or the desire for Permanent Happiness in the wrong way?  After I die, my name will be remembered.  Someone remembered your name and you are rotting.  Why wrong way?  It does not give you Eternal Happiness but it is a sign for something which human beings want i.e. to have Eternal Happiness.   Does that seem to be the right way of attaining Eternal Happiness?  No.  Do you really get satisfaction with that? No.  Can you achieve anything permanently in this world? No.

Comment: If I had a restricted anger which is limited, then my desire for justice would be limited as well.  The unrestricted ability to restrict anger that has been given to me points to my unrestricted and unlimited need for justice.  This also applies to my unlimited need for happiness.  Unrestricted need for anger points to the unrestricted need for happiness.  Unrestricted anger is a news bearer that my need for unrestricted happiness will be fulfilled but this I will only feel to the degree that I train myself and become aware of things.

Why am I given unrestricted desires and ambitions?  This is a fundamental question.  My life is temporary so why am I given unrestricted desires?  Using the sense of anger to achieve justice and when you achieve justice, what happens?

Comment: I am comfortable.

Comfortable until you die.  When you achieve justice, you are comfortable.  From there you should get a conclusion: “I am given the sense of anger in order to acknowledge that I need justice”.  Yes, we like justice, that is how our human qualities are adjusted.  Can you have Permanent justice in this world?  Can you achieve anything permanently in this world?  No, but we need Permanent satisfaction here and we cannot achieve it here.

Comment:  Everything we experience here is on a moment by moment basis.  In a moment, I was able to conclude that the sense of anger has been given to me and now whatever result has been created (e.g. I feel happy when justice is established).  This goes on a moment by moment basis.  Another moment comes in again.  Our concept of getting Permanent everything is what we are looking for something like a static state of mind, in other words, Permanent.

Permanent means Eternal.  If something is Eternal, you cannot say static or dynamic.  That is what human nature desires, something that is not on a moment by moment basis i.e. Eternal.

All the qualities are given to us in order to understand the Permanent Source of it.  Example: I may use my sense of anger by rebelling against injustice, what happens then?  You will feel succeeded.  I am given the sense of loving justice, very true, but for what?  I actually want Eternal justice.  Every king and dynasty has an end, whether cruel or not.  Nothing really remains permanently in this world.  After solving a couple of problems in the society and being a just ruler in family and society you are never satisfied unless you listen to your need to have an Eternal Source of Justice.

Isn’t there a relationship between the unlimited human qualities and the nature of this universe which never allows the permanence practice of this human quality?  Yes.  The beauty of this kind of creation lies in its contradiction as far as human expectations are concerned.  I expect something, but universe says no.  Who does not want Permanent Happiness here?  But there is no Permanent Happiness here.  This contradiction helps me achieve my permanent ultimate goal.  That is why I must train my unrestricted feelings or human qualities in such a way that I achieve Permanent Satisfaction.  How can I do that?  Nothing in the world can help you.  Is there anything in the world that can help you?

Comment: The fact that you come to this acknowledgment gives you some sort of belonging and trust in that Permanent Happiness.  This realization is enough, and I agree the sense must be fulfilled.

How can it be fulfilled?

Comment: It is in realizing who is going to provide that Permanent Happiness.

Yes, realizing that who or what can satisfy my desire for Permanent Happiness.  Nothing of the world.  I am not the Source of existence of these senses.

Premises:

  1. I am not the source of my existence.
  2. I am not the source of existence of my qualities.
  3. My senses are given to me in an unlimited form.
  4. I need Permanent Happiness.
  5. Nothing in this world of this world can satisfy my desire for Permanent Happiness.
  6. The One who gave me the desire for Permanent Happiness and unrestricted human qualities must satisfy it.

In other words, to summarize the above premises, I look at the universe and nothing is meaningless here.  In my existence there is a conscious factor behind my existence.  The Source of existence of my human qualities and the desire for Eternity must be based on wisdom.  How can I find that wisdom?  I have the desire for Eternity, but I do not know how to fulfill it.  Hence, the Source of Existence of these desires must be a Wise One since everything is perfectly arranged.  I cannot say that I accidentally have feelings or intelligence because there is no source of existence of these qualities here.

  • Can we comfortably conclude that whoever has given existence to the universe and me in it must tell me what is the purpose in my existence, how am I going to utilize these tools, so I will fulfill the desire for Eternal Happiness?

Don’t we see that the teachers claimed to have been employed by the Creator of human beings always speak to us in terms of: “Look, this universe is a sign pointing to its Source of Existence and asking to use our limitless qualities to find out who the Source of our existence is and attach our being to that Source.  Only that Source can satisfy you, nothing of this universe can satisfy you, so connect your being or existence to It.”

This is an excellent reflection: “Yes there must be a purpose in the existence of everything and my feelings as well and the Source of all these existences seems a like a Wise One and so It must teach me how to utilize all these unrestricted feelings so that I can acknowledge It, the Source of Existence.”  Hence, we need teachers!!

Why do we need a teacher appointed by the One who created me with unrestricted feelings?  Unrestricted feelings are the way that I understand that I am not the Source of existence of these qualities, but I need Eternity.  These unrestricted qualities must be used and employed in order to understand the Absolute (Infinite) qualitiesExample: Anger is given to me to experience or feel the need for justice.  I need justice and I need it Eternally.  I need justice on a Permanent base.  Can we get it here?  What can satisfy this need?  The One who gave it to you.  What is needed in this universe?  Only acknowledgment of Its Wisdom and Purpose as this world is a training place.

While we are going through this training, we understand that the Owner of our existence tells us: “Come to me and attach your desire and need for Permanent Justice/Happiness to me.  Nothing else can satisfy you here.  Don’t fool yourself by saying that I am going to be a better human being.  When we follow this path of reasoning, does our human side get satisfaction?  Yes it does but not on a temporary base.  I can practice the temporary base in this world in order to consolidate that my Creator is the Source of Absolute Justice/Happiness, I have to represent It because I am given the sense of Justice.  Why are we given the sense of Justice?

  • If we are not given the sense of Justice, we would not feel the need for Permanent Justice and as a result, we would not look for the Source of the sense of Justice as in what can provide that?

The messengers teach in a common and simple language: “Acknowledge your God.  Do not worship anything of this world because they are not worth it.”  This means that nothing of this world can satisfy the sense of Justice, they are not worth it.  In history you hear all royalties inheriting thrones and still they all built their own palaces.  Why?  Thinking that the palace would satisfy them i.e. “This is my palace”.   Yeah, right!  You will die and your palace remains here or gets destroyed.

Comment:  Do seek satisfaction from this world.

You cannot seek satisfaction from this world.  Anything of this world cannot respond to you in a positive way telling you that they can satisfy you, so you should not seek because it is meaningless.

Comment:  The practice of satisfaction on a temporary base ought to be used to consolidate our conclusion that only the Creator of this sense can satisfy my need for this sense.  At the same time, as human beings living in a temporary world, we are constantly seeking new means of satisfying our hunger (let’s eat something new, let’s do something new, let’s go somewhere new…)  because this need is so big in us that constantly pushes us to do something new.  As long as we continue to use that desire or drive in a way that I can acknowledge the experience as pointing to my need for Eternal Happiness and it may be temporarily satisfied here with a new location, new scenery, new clothes…  Is it Ok to still do those things by realizing that this is pointing to my need for Eternity?  Otherwise, if I keep doing the same thing and wear the same cloths, it would be so hard to live here comfortably?

If you utilize these desires in the right way and use them as the means of acknowledging the Source can satisfy me, then you do not become the slaves of your temporary desires.  You free yourself from your temporary desires and you do not have to renew your cloths every season.  You also would not cook every day because that was the reason of the sense to make you realize that you need Eternal Satisfaction and the universe cannot provide it for you.  There is no end in our desires, but they are to be used.

Going back to the example above, palaces are not the Source of human satisfaction, but it is a sign that I need something Permanent as belonging to me.  Similarly, I am in need of Permanent Justice.  Not that I am the Source of justice or satisfaction but more so, I need to see that justice is prevailing in the world as a temporary practice, but ultimately I desire Permanent Justice.  That is what I need.  I am training myself here.  It does not mean that I should not cook new food or buy new clothing.  These senses are to be utilized to understand the Source.  The teachers are employed to teach us how to do that or how to succeed in that end i.e. what am I expected to do, and which kind of understanding am I supposed to have?

  • If there was no Prophetic mission in the world (news through the Prophets), then this world would mean nothing but a puzzling place and we can never imagine that everything in this world is a sign to an Eternal Absolute Being.

Look at the people who tend not to submit their existence to a Creator, they just say that we happen to be in the universe accidentally.  They cannot treat any part of the universe as a sign.  That is the fundamental weakness in material understanding.  They may only say once that the universe is at is, let us investigate how it works.

  • If you do not look for what things are here for, then you cannot see everything as a sign because you blocked yourself to look for the source of existence of things.

They (materialist mind) say that all things are meaningful, but their meaningfulness is meaningless.  Why are they meaningful?  That is the dilemma of materialist understanding.  That is not human at all and not thinking of human qualities and using human in the right way.

Comment: I am human, and I need Eternal Happiness.  This universe is incapable of satisfying my need for Eternal Happiness.  I must attach myself to the One that has given me this desire.

Start as follows: When I look at the universe, I see that everything has a purpose in their existence and they cannot be the source of this meaningfulness.  The matter itself cannot be the source of this meaningfulness because they have no wisdom, freewill and intelligence, so how are they meaningful?  The Source of existence comes afterwards.  Whoever has given existence to this universe must have wisdom.

Comment:  I recognize the order and wisdom in this universe and then I conclude with my need for Eternal Happiness (there must also be a wisdom behind it).  Then I conclude that the One who has given me this desire of Eternal Happiness must be the only One capable of satisfying this need and so I need a way to learn to attach myself to the Source and this means that I must be firm in my conclusion that this desire will be fulfilled by the Source of this desire.  That is why this desire is given to me to acknowledge the Source of its Existence.  Through the training of my limitless qualities, I can undergo this process of education and reach this conclusion.  It becomes like a circle where I must keep confirming the Source of my Existence.

In order to achieve this result, we need teachers and guide to teach us how to turn this circle in our lives.  When you get fresh food every day, you cannot satisfy your Permanent desire for fresh food.  Every day there will be a last supper as Jesus said (yaumul akhirah or the last day i.e. this is the last one).  One day will come and that day will be the last super we will have because one day will come and we will die.

Everything will be experienced in the life of human beings as the last one and that will be the end if you do not find the Source of Existence of things because nothing here can take you beyond the last super.  I understand that Jesus was a teacher.  Human beings need Eternal satisfaction.  (Instead of expecting resurrection of every being, Christian tradition has reduced his life to reincarnation that Jesus is going to be resurrected after three days.  What is the point of being resurrected in this world again if you are going to have another last super?  That becomes a vicious circle.)  The desire for Eternal Happiness requires Eternal Existence.

  • This means that in this universe we will have a last supper, but our source of Existence is teaching us for making us desire Eternal supper. That is resurrection.  We need to be given another type of existence, so we can experience Eternal supper.  Keep your appetite for Eternal supper.

Comment:  In every new moment that I am given existence, at the same time I am given a new means for satisfaction.  As long as each new need is acknowledged, the means through which it is satisfied is acknowledged, the Source of that satisfaction is acknowledged.  Example: I am hungry and given a means of satisfaction.  As long as every step is acknowledged, whichever way that is acknowledged (going to a new vacation, eating new food…) as long as it is constantly feeding this confirmation then at some point you say that I do not need to taste this because I am so satisfied.

There is no end for this realization.  Every need that is created in my life is another means of re-establishing this conclusion.  Do you think that the Creator of this setting appoints a teacher to teach me how to eat or is the teacher teaching me the meaning in eating pointing to the Source of this need who can satisfy me i.e. introducing the Source?  When we talk about Sunnah (following the Prophetic path in terms of how much you should eat and when you should eat or eating with right hand for example), these are essentially irrelevant but not totally.  In the practice of the Prophetic teachings (sunnah), we must use it as a means of remembering or recalling the mission of Prophethood (connecting the event to the source).  Example: if Prophet says to eat with right hand, it must be used as a means of realizing the mission of the Prophet (i.e. connecting the event to the source) and remembering me to recall it while I am eating: “this action of eating is not the source of satisfaction but must be used as a means to understand that I need Permanent Satisfaction which can only be realized by the Creator of this sense of wanting Permanent Satisfaction”.

The culture mostly treats the Prophet in terms of material needs, not the meaning.  Example: you ate with the right hand and so you followed the Prophet.  No, you did not follow him, you just imitated a man.  The real message of the Prophet is to teach me that by using all these means, we are expected to reach a conclusion.  That is, “the Prophet ate this way, but the mission of the Prophet is to teach me that only the Creator can satisfy me.”

  • Use this world as a sign to its Source of Existence.

If we follow the way the Prophet lived in this world to refresh our minds and understandings about the mission of the Prophethood, then that is correct.  If you reduce it to physical action, that has nothing to do with Prophethood.

Culture is full of physical imitation of the Prophet saying that I followed Sunnah.  Do I fulfill Sunnah when I eat with the right hand?  When you physically bring the exemplary action of the Prophet in your life, you have to see in this action the manifestation of the names of the Creator of that action (asma ul husna).

  • In every act of the Prophet, you are expected to see the manifestation of asma ul ilahi.
  • We should never reduce the teachings of the Quran to physical actions.

Comment:  Why does one have to adapt the Prophetic way?

It is a means of reminding you to connect everything to its Source.  Example: if you follow the values of the materialist civilization, it reminds you to follow the values of the material civilization.

Main mission of the Prophetic teachings is to instruct us to see the manifestation of the Absolute Source in everything.

Why do you think this civilization want us to follow their values?

  • To remind us that if you have new outfits every month, you will be satisfied. Satan plays with you like that example if you have ripped jeans, you will be happy.

Everyone has their own level of understanding regarding what belief matters are related to.

  • When the Prophet is reminded, it is his mission given to him by God that is reminded and so his teachings connects you to God

In summary, the author mentions that I need to train and educate my qualities and so I ask: Why do I need to train them for?  What is my end goal?  What am I going to achieve by using all my tools?

Well, human beings desire Eternal Existence.  How am I going to achieve that using all my tools and senses?   There is no Eternal Permanence and Satisfaction here.  What do I do?

  • First, recognize that as a human being you desire Permanent Satisfaction and there is no Permanent Satisfaction here. This should bother you.
  • Second, know that you are endowed with various senses and tools which need to be educated and trained. How am I going to train my senses in a way that results in Permanent Satisfaction?

Like any other training, the training needs guidance.  When you need guidance, you automatically look for a teacher.  Otherwise, if you do not see any point in training, then you will not look for a teacher.

What do I do with my senses so that I reach Eternal Happiness?

Again, I first need to be satisfied that I need to reach Permanent Happiness.  If by choosing a way leads me to Eternal Happiness, then that is it.  Human satisfaction can only be achieved by realizing Eternal Happiness.

How do I attain Eternal Happiness?  Why am I given unrestricted desires?  My life is temporary.  I cannot get Eternal Justice here.  I am looking for something Permanent.  Nature of this world never allows Permanence of any qualities.

  • I am in need of realizing what can satisfy my desire for Permanence?

Example: Anger is given to me to experience the need for Justice.  I need Justice on a Permanent base.  What can satisfy this need?  The One who gave it to you.  What is needed is acknowledgment of His Wisdom.

  • The Owner of my Existence communicates with me here through the Prophets saying attach your existence to Me.

Do not fool yourself by attaining this world.  What is the Source of Satisfaction?

  • I need something that I belong to eternally.
  • This world is a temporary practice.

When I look at the universe, everything has a purpose and matter itself cannot be the source of meaning because it has no freewill.  How are things meaningful?

My need for Eternal Happiness must have wisdomHow can I turn the circle?

  • In this existence, we will have “Last Supper” every day, but our Source is preparing us for Eternal Satisfaction.
  • Mission of Prophet i.e. to practice his Sunnah is to ignite the awareness that everything here is satisfied by the Creator only. Hence, record His value.
