Divine Attributes are read through the eyes of fasting

Fasting is a journey through the Divine Attributes. All those who fast, consciously or unconsciously, become a river of the Divine Attributes; their eyes, their hearts manifest new mysteries… Each state of the fast brings the person to the brink of a new manifestation. Fasting turns each person into a prism… with each light that touches her, she disperses into new colors, been seen by fresh manifestations of the Divine Attributes…

Being in the name of God is fasting… Receiving less of this world, and more of the afterlife… Decreasing in this world, and increasing in the eyes of God… Fasting is the state of being in the name of God, embodied…

Fasting is… surrendering to God… surrendering all that you have, your days and your nights to His Will… Fasting is… starting each and every prayer with “oh my Lord”, with dried lips, as the tongue and heart witnesses… Fasting is… the peak of servanthood… kneeling in front of the true Lord, Educator, Care-taker…

Fasting is… enjoying the shade of the climate of the Loving Grace… Cutting all hope from others’ mercy, turning face from other’s compassion… Knowing the one and only Merciful and Compassionate as the Loving Grace (Rahman)… Realizing that we are being fed and fulfilled at the table of the Loving Grace…

Fasting is… being in the gardens of the Rahim… Witnessing the exhaustion of the world; the helplessness of existence… Touching your lips to the fountain of infinite… Turning your face to the breeze of paradise… Discovering the spring of mercy in this world…

Fasting is… sitting at the table of the Most-Generous… Increasing the pleasure of being fed by the Most- Generous… Knowing providence only from God… Being fulfilled not by what is given, but by the Giver…
