Recap: The rejecters of the Prophets are endowed with God’s message, but they choose to deny their reality for personal ambitions. Hence, they made up vain excuses to oppose the Prophets (messengers of the message of God), because their aim is not to submit their being to God, and they want to have their egoistic independencies to be met. That is what the Psychology of denial is all about, satisfying one’s egoistical desires and ambitions.
38:10 “Or have they control of the heavens and the earth, and everything between? If so, let them ascend by means to reach that end.”
People who declare their egoistic independence, are trying to explain how the universe works from itself and they claim it through their biased understandings, without giving a change to something not of the nature of the universe. Their ultimate aim is to say that we can grasp the universe by our own power of knowledge. They may try to understand something about how the universe works, but their claim is to explain the universe with how it exists as it is. These people block their minds and do not think about even the possibility that the universe may be created by something who is called God, therefore, are indifferent towards the Prophetic message that God offers, however, they don’t declare this openly.
The main struggle of the Quran is not about common people who do not really take notice about what is going on and carry their life heedlessly. These are negligent people and do not deliberately oppose the prophetic message, rather, they only harm themselves by not being serious about their human nature. All the threats that we read in the revelation are not about the heedless, hence we need to make a distinction about these people. They say that I am just taking care of my family life. They are innocent as far as the Prophetic message is concerned, however, as far as being a human being, they are not innocent. They must think why am I struggling in this world? It is obvious that this life on Earth is transient, at the end we are brought into this world and will all die. It is inevitable to ignore this reality. The Quran describes these people (the people of Hell, who wasted their life and did not fulfill their purpose) in two categories:
- The leaders of the society.
- The people who followed them blindly without questioning.

“And they will approach one another blaming each other.
They will say, “Indeed, you used to come at us from the right.
The oppressors will say, “Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers,
And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people.
So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment].
So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment.”
The psychology behind the deniers is not wanting to submit to a Conscious Creator. Therefore, they try to find the Cause of existence of this universe within this universe?
Can anyone find a Cause to take control over the universe?
Everything is done within the order of the universe. We cannot get out of the status of “createdness” and get out of our reality. We cannot get anything to take control of the universe. The rejecters only follow the order of the universe and try to find out how it works. Their research is within the control of the order, and they cannot get out of the order. They cannot do anything but follow what is in the order. We are all slaves of the order so declaring our independence in our existence is impossible. Since the elements of the universe are subject to the order, they cannot be the establishers of the order. The elements have no free will. No one can prove otherwise.
Example: when we take medicine, we benefit from what is presented within the order of the universe. We are only subject to what the universe is subject to, i.e., “created”.
Religion and belief are in the message of the Prophet. Human nature cannot get out of the order of the universe, we cannot get anything which is not provided already within the order of the universe.
38:11 “They are only soldiers who are bound to suffer defeat regardless of what alliance they have.”
Discoveries are nothing but what the Creator of the universe is providing. Again, we cannot get out of the order of the universe. Most of the people are negligent, what they do, they will carry on their life. The real conflict, fight is going on between the conscious believers and the deliberate rejecters. Every child as s/he grows think that their parents are the best people. They realize that their parents also have nothing essential apart from some experiences of life (and start questioning the capacity of their parents), then the growing mind starts searching. If we present the young people with (the prophetic message) the evidence that they are familiar with and convincing, replacing the vacuums they receive from parents/teachers, then we will be serving humanity. Otherwise, they fall into family culture, live without any concern about their life or follow societal trends. The Prophetic mission is to help others get out of meaningless life. The followers of the Prophet must present these people with alternate ideas that challenge the denying idea (spread through mass media) as an alternative.
People opposing the Prophetic message are successful nowadays in attracting the younger generation with their baseless but flowery claims that they will find out soon is meaningless. These ideas are not powerful and are bound to suffer defeat, because they cannot prove what they claim. They may have no evidence to explain what the Source of Existence of this universe is.
38:12 “Before them, the people of Noah denied the truth, as did “Ad, Pharaoh of the mighty structures.”
38: 13 “Thamud, the people of Lot, and the residents of the Forest.”
38:14 “Each rejected their messenger, so My punishment was justified.”
We cannot say that I am saved now because I believe in God, or I follow a certain way of life. Never! We are always accountable for each momentary action about what we ascribe our existence to. The previous people mentioned like this in the scriptures are telling me about my reality right now. Even if those leaders were very powerful socially, they died and have nothing now, which means that they could not get out of the will of the Creator. That is what we see. Whoever claims that I declare my existence as an independent being, at the end s/he knows that h/se will die. As a result, my Creator says that: “I will give you another existence where you will experience the result of meaningless benefits here, that is Hell.” (See for example, Qur’an, 10: 8; 83: 36.)
“For those their refuge will be the Fire because of what they used to earn. 10:8”
“Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 83:36”
Those people who reject the Creator, they deny their reality and are ungrateful and arrogant towards their Creator. As a believer in God and the follower of the Prophetic message, as far as my relationship with my Creator is concerned, I must maintain my covenant with my Creator, with my feelings. How does that happen? Do not reject the Creator’s favor to give us life. The Prophetic message asks me to declare that: “I am loyal to my Creator and not contradicting my reality.” As a result, my Creator says that: “I will give you another existence where there will be more and more benefits from Me, that is Paradise. We understand through human feelings that if someone is grateful to my favor, I continue to do it more for him, and if someone is ungrateful, it is in my human nature to stop favoring him because s/he did not appreciate my servings. As a result, the Creator says that “I will not give you anymore”. These feelings are given by our Creator to appreciate our Creator.
- Prophetic message says: “However you treat (think of God), God will treat you accordingly”.
God just wants you to acknowledge, don’t deny your reality. I am not going to add anything to perfect anything from the universe. I just choose to obey the order, and the result is created. That is why the Messengers never ask for any wage from anyone. Their message helps you to be consistent within yourself, nothing for their own benefit, only their concern for you is to be consistent within yourself to experience serenity and that is how to benefit from your existence. Example: when I help a needy person, I feel happy that I helped a needy one, and I must be grateful to the One helping me be happy. If we do anything with God consciousness, we will see the comfort and peace in ourselves.
- When we are modest, we enjoy our existence.
- When we are arrogant, we are in conflict within ourselves, it is against human nature, the way we are created.
38: 15 “All the disbelievers here are waiting for is a single blast that cannot be postponed.”
It means the single blast is taking place with my own spirit, as soon as I disconnect myself from my Creator, I find myself in a vacuum, an absolute meaningless life. Every Prophet comes alone to a single society, to the arrogant people who are the leaders. They come alone but never fall into despair. That is how the examples of the Prophets must be applied in our lives, we are not facing any physical struggle in this world, but ideological struggle. We must take this matter seriously! At least we can represent the Prophetic message in our lives and stand for the truth. Whoever is ready to consent to you, keep an open mind and door. Treat the people nicely around you, they appreciate nice behavior. They will say this person is nice, they should know your identity so people will say these are the followers of the Prophetic message. If only we have the spirit of the Messengership! The sunnah of the Prophet is to stand against the whole society, if they are wrong, challenge them with no conflict, then offer the message to them, this is the most important sunnah of the prophet to follow. That is what the sunnah means, to never surrender to any objections and look for any kinds of opportunities and make sure that people don’t fall into meaninglessness, that is the sunnah of the Prophet.
Their punishment (of the deniers) is within their own selves with meaningless life that they are living, they have no fear of themselves. We need to bring the message to these people as well so they can also benefit from their lives.
