Arguments for Resurrection – Part 8
The Seedbed of Light, The Third Treatise
Arguments for the Resurrection (page 53 continuation)
The Creator has Messengers who agree unanimously that the center of His mighty Sovereignty is far from us, and that this world’s transient mansions will be exchanged for everlasting palaces in the next world. Such a magnificent, permanent Sovereignty cannot be based on what is perishable, changeable, and transitory.
Everything in this universe is given to me in perfect harmony. That is, I want to use everything (all my human qualities) perfectly and I want to be satisfied with them because I want to experience them permanently. But I cannot satisfy that because I have no quality to do that…
Analogy: I observe a building which has a closed door. If the door is open, then the building can be accessed. Similarly, the universe with its transient nature is like the closed door. I have the desire to experience all my qualities permanently but this universe does not enable such.
What is the purpose in the existence of my desire if it cannot be fulfilled in this universe?
The purpose is for me to realize that this desire is given to me by my Maker. Since the Maker is Absolute, I cannot communicate with the Maker directly within this universe. I use my feelings to understand the Source of its existence and I conclude: “The Giver of this feeling must send me a messenger to make me understand how can my desires be fulfilled.
- I have the desire to speak to my Maker and get answers from It alone.
- If the Maker has given me the ability to desire answers, It must answer.
We should trust on our own abilities (i.e. Its wisdom: the Maker must answer) pointing to the Makerthis Maker must communicate.
- When I trust in my abilities (i.e. realizing that it is given to me), then I trust in its Giver i.e. my Maker.
The answers come in different forms, a well- known one is the Messengers in human form bringing the news from the Creator about resurrection.
- Since Eternal life is not possible here, there must be a place where permanent existence must be given. Otherwise, why am I being tortured here by experiencing transience and the desire for permanence?
We must understand our position in this universe i.e. we are created. Everything is given to us. The ability to question and the ability to search for answers and get answers is not our product. Consciousness solves all problems, which prompts us to question the Source of existence of all qualities. While we are talking about be cognizant of knowing our position in existence, we also ought to know that:
- Essence of nature of existence is different or cannot be comprehended.
Nothing is mine, everything is given to me. Neither I nor my component parts can claim that they have the ability to be the cause of existence of anything. Human qualities are not mine, they are given to me. If I think that nature has given it to me, then whatever understanding I have of nature, I must get answers from nature. If I do not, then my understanding of nature is false.
The message brought by the Messengers must be in a way and language that I understand. If it is not in human language, then the Maker is un-Wise! That is why the messengers came speaking vernacular language of the first addressees of the message, such as Hebrew, Arabic and Aramaic (mostly what is known to us now). The language of revelation in original forms gets interpreted, translated and comprehended. Meaning may get lost in translation but that is very minor. The Speech of God revealed within certain conditions is just an example for us to apply it within our own conditions. Example: The Prophet said to a man who was shivering that when it is cold, wear a sweater. If I were to apply that saying during summer time, that would be an insane interpretation of the Speech of God.
Why do we speak to God in Arabic while doing rituals?
Rituals are our answers and way of communicating with the Source of our existence. We should speak to God in the most recent revealed language i.e. Quranic language. Rituals mean communicating with the Creator. Communication of your awareness of Its existence. I must present my acknowledgment to my Creator.
The Prophet presents to us means of communicating with the Creator i.e. prayers and worship. He/she teaches you not only the structure of the ritual but also how to execute t. Analogy: empty cup of the same shape and size is the ritual. Filling the cup with awareness and acknowledgment of the Source is relative to everyone. One’s cup contains how much they have trained their capacity through the revelation.
- Worship is acknowledgment of your reality and communicating with your Creator. Meaning of worship is total submission. And this submission is performed with the language of the message according to the instruction of the human Messengers.
