The Seedbed of Light, The Third Treatise
Arguments for the Resurrection (page 53 continuation)
“(God) makes repeated promises that He can carry out easily and that have profound significance for His subjects. He cannot break even one, for that would contradict His rule’s glory and dignity.”
Which kind of Promises does the Creator keep repeating? Have you heard that It will give us an Eternal life? What are the clues?
Answer: I have a sense of wanting existence to stay permanent. I experience the promise when I feel the need for it.
What other clues are you given to make you realize that we will definitely be resurrected or existence must continue?
Answer: In my observation of the universe, I experience night a day every day and by the end of the night, I know that day must come.
I need Eternity, where is it?
Answer: Not within this universe.
How can I get it? Where is the answer?
Answer: Eternity cannot be found within the universe but we can start experiencing its necessary existence while we are within the universe.
The way we are made makes us question things around us. The way we are made also makes us with the need to seek guidance. Messengers present us with guidance in the form of revelation. Messengers claim a message which we check within ourselves. As a result, we conclude that they are Messengers employed by the Source of existence of this universe to convey the message to us. Hence, we are made in need of Messengers. Although, we do not get to see the miracles of the messengers (because we are non-primitive than people of their time who required miracles) but we are sure that their existence is necessary to our being.
Given: Eating a banana
- Attitude #1: I am hungry, yum yum banana.
- Just like a monkey, I eat it to satisfy the need of my stomach only.
- Attitude #2: I am hungry, yum yum. This banana is presented to me and the monkey deliberately by a One that gives existence to the banana. Unlike the monkey, I use my consciousness to question the taste and qualities (i.e. existence) of the banana.
- Behind the existence of the banana lies its Creator’s right.
- Acknowledging the Source of existence of the banana (Creator).
- The Scripture or manual helps us to confirm attitude #2.
What comes first, manual or the banana?
- Since human beings are always questioning and wondering, inquiring about the existence of the banana comes first. Then, the manual or revelation helps you conclude your experience of the banana and assure your conclusion.
- Analogy: without using the machine, how can you confirm the manual? Similarly, without experiencing the universe, how can you confirm the message of the Creator of the universe, known as revelation brought by the Messenger.
Given: Disliking injustice
- Where did I get the feeling of desiring justice?
- Is this feeling my own production?
- Is this feeling my own property?
- Can this feeling be the result of the random movements of the unconscious particles.
- The answer is no.
- Just as when we inform authority about a criminal, similarly, the need to establish justice is human to us. Through this need our maker is disclosing the news that It is the Just One and the Source of Justice and It will definitely establish the Justice at the end of this training place, i.e. the universe.
Also, since we rebel injustice and so we question: why do some people get away with murder in this universe? It may seem unfair and so we have this feeling that it should not be such, there must be justice somewhere. Yes, at the end we all experience the same consequence i.e. death but there must be another type of existence where justice should prevail. That feeling is within us. If we suppress that feeling, then we are bound to conclude that the universe is a result of random happening and as a result, we are bound to feel miserable from experiencing injustice in the universe. We may give up on our endeavors of finding purpose in this universe because we see that we are all treated equally at the end here i.e. we all die.
- Not accepting the purpose of existence of this universe, which is a sign that a Conscious Being is behind the existence of this universe is an insult and not accepting that there will be a resurrection is an equal insult to the Creator of the universe.
How do I know that I will experience justice while experiencing injustice? At the end, everyone dies whether you are the most notorious man or a regular Joe. So what is the point in being given different desires then?
The Answer: We need to attribute these desires to the One that gives it to us. The One that gives it to us is the only One that can fulfill it for us, otherwise the existence of these desires would be pointless. The purpose of being given these desires is not for their fulfillment here, rather it is given to us to be aware that these desires are a Promise i.e. they shall be met in another type of existence. That is, there must be another type of existence where justice shall be accomplished. Everyone will be treated according to their perceptions and actions while living in this universe.
- Existence of God necessitates the existence of resurrection.
- Desiring for the establishment of justice necessitates the existence of resurrection.
- Existence of resurrection necessitates on the Omnipotent Being who can do it.
- Universe witnesses #1,2,3 + the Messengers brings the news of #1,2,3
- Human qualities and qualities manifested in the universe point to the existence of resurrection.
Analogy: A rock destroys a person’s house. Is the person innocent? Yes. This person must definitely be rewarded because the One who establishes this order, gravity, cliff… etc. is responsible for it.
- Whoever is damaged without utilizing his/her will shall definitely be recompensed i.e. martyrdom (one of the messages brought by the Messenger.)
- Existence is the sense of Eternity, but this world is transient, we can conclude that Maker must establish Eternal life.
When we reduce existence to accidents, then there is no belief in our lives. As a result, the idea of resurrection, let alone existence never crosses our minds.
The existence of the universe itself is self-explanatory. Revelation is an extra much needed aid to re-assure our conclusions.
Revelation refers to creation in order to legitimize its own claim.
- Witnessing of creation comes first, and then revelation re-assures it.
- That is why revelation is a Mercy, helps us not to spoil our nature i.e. human qualities.
What signs of resurrection do I experience here in this universe?
- I am given human qualities desiring eternity.
- The universe is full of meaning which points to the necessity of messengership.
Our existence is circular i.e. we start with our realityconfirm with Revelationconclude our reality
