Arguments for Resurrection – Part 12
The Seedbed of Light, The Third Treatise
Arguments for the Resurrection (page 55 continuation)
“…If that Mercy did not manifest Itself fully in another world, then favor and beneficence, blocked in this world and without hope of becoming unblocked, would change into a cause of distress and suffering.”
“In another world”= another type of creation.
In and of itself, there is nothing wrong with this creation. But as far as my human expectations are concerned, everything contradicts here because we desire Eternity i.e. Eternal perfection. My human qualities are not satisfied here. The Creator demonstrates its limitless qualities here through transience and we can conclude based on our un-satisfaction with transience that only It can satisfy the desire to experience such qualities permanently. That is why, we conclude that there must be another type of existence where the desire for wanting Eternal everything shall be met. We expect the Creator of this universe to satisfy our human expectations in another type of creation. If we do not come to this conclusion, then we are bound to be disappointed here because the Creator demonstrates limitless qualities here and does not give it to us here fully. The disappointing attitude is an insult to the Creator of the universe. Watch out!
- “Compassion [for things bound to eternal extinction] is, in fact, a suffering, and love for them a desperate concern. The intellect, [which brings to mind past pains and future anxieties,] is, in this short life, a torment and passing pleasure, for with no hope of eternity it turns into pain. Denying eternal life means denying this Mercy, and is the same as denying the sun that fills the world with its light every day.”
The created world is limited but the qualities manifested in the universe (belonging to the Creator of the universe) are unlimited.
Analogy: A father raises his child with compassion and slaughter him/her after 13 years. Will the child be at ease with the end result? No. Similarly, the Creator of the universe gives us existence in this universe with compassion and takes us away from here by giving us death. How can we be at ease with this apparent end result?
- Only by submitting our existence fully to the One that gives us existence can human feelings find satisfaction here.
We mostly neglect our human feelings. How do we explain the existence of our human feelings? Can we attribute our feeling to ourselves? Think about it!
Our feelings are given to us to be trained to get to know the Source of our existence.
- Are you aware that the senses do not belong to you?
Let the human qualities encounter with the teachings of the Quran. What makes me a human being is my human consciousness first and foremost, followed by my human qualities.
When one thinks that this universe is the end to existence, then they do everything to gain this universe. They may be using their human qualities by reducing them to animalistic appetites but without recognizing the Source of existence of these qualities, every act that one performs becomes meaningless. People even like to leave their legacy by printing their names on memorials. Instead, leave your print with the Creator, not with the universe which is also transient like your life. That is, be proud of your Creator as the good actions belong to it, not you! Example: if you enjoy a beautiful moment, ask yourself who is preparing it for you? Are you enjoying it from yourself? Or, is “nature” giving you enjoyment? What is nature anyways? Think: Why is nature giving you happiness?
- The Creator has a Majesty and Glory that require punishing those who disrespect them and destroying those who disparage them. His destruction of earlier rebellious peoples shows that He gives respite but does not neglect them. His actions show that He gives the greatest importance to His commands and prohibitions.”
Law of creation is such that everyone is treated equally in their existence. By denying this reality, we insult the Creator of this reality. (to be continued)
